Vyninka Arlow


Vyninka is a great all round athlete and at 11 years of age she was a state champion in three sports - diving, basketball and surf competitions. Vyninka's mother, Robyn, competed as a diver in the 1964 and 1968 Olympic Games and she was a silver medallist in the 1966 Jamaica Commonwealth Games Platform event.

Vyninka distinguished herself very well at her first Olympic Games in Barcelona. At the 1994 Commonwealth Games held in Victoria, Canada Vyninka dived extremely well to win a silver medal in the 10m event. She is one of the top platform divers in the world today after winning a bronze medal in the 1995 World Diving Cup in Atlanta. Vyninka currently trains with Salvador Sobrino Saldivar at the Australian Institute of Sport in Brisbane and is considering studying Architecture at Queensland University.
