The Greenwood Titans gain a podium position

The Greenwood Cheerleading team was selected on the 11th of February, for the next 8 months our team trained every Wednesday night in the school gym we trained for 2 hours each week. This training was all for the lead up to our State and National competitions.

Our State competition was held at Loftus recreation centre on the 10th September. This was a great opportunity for us to practise our routine in front of an audience and to show our skills. We placed 2nd which was a really great result and we exceeded our expectations with our performance.

On the 29th of September we all packed our bags and flew to Melbourne for the Aus Cheer National Competitions. Whilst we were there we got the experience of seeing a whole new city. We trained every day for 3 to 4 hours in the local parks to help us prepare. In between training sessions we managed to fit in a few shopping trips and also saw the musical Chicago which was a very enjoyable night out.

It was a great trip and experience for all of the girls and we all came home very proud with a medal around our necks and a trophy in our hands as we placed 3rd in the competition to our surprise. We were all very overwhelmed with the outcome. We wouldn’t have gotten this far without Miss Fitt and Hannah supporting and coaching us the whole way.
