Greenwood College encompasses a strong creative Visual Arts faculty that takes pride in being creative, dynamic and innovative in all aspects of developing young adults for the future. Years 7 to 12 have access to an extensive range and variety of visual art experiences guided by professional and highly qualified and experienced teaching staff. Our courses develop skills and techniques in drawing, painting, graphics, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, textiles and digital media.
A successful and ongoing partnership with Central Institute of Technology ensures that creatively talented and interested upper-school students are given the opportunity to acquire a Certificate lll in Visual Arts over a two year period.
The aim in Visual Arts is to guide students to develop artistic skills and enable students to problem solve and discover creative solutions. They also build confidence and self esteem through artistic discovery of images and objects. Students understand and appreciate the role of artists in society, past and present. Students with a strong interest in Visual Arts have the opportunity to further develop advanced skills that will assist them in the pursuit of further education and a career in the areas such as Graphic Design, Advertising, Animation, Film and Television, Fashion, Sign-writing, Theatre and stage set design, Photography, Web-design, Gaming and Fine Arts
