A very successful, job oriented specialist aviation program, is conducted at Greenwood College by one of Western Australia’s most experienced and qualified aeronautics teachers, who has overseen the development of the course curriculum since its inception in 1991.
The popular program runs across Years Seven to Twelve. The success of the program has been demonstrated by the exciting opportunities which have opened up for its graduates. Students from the program have gone into careers such as:
- Navy helicopter pilots
- Charter pilots
- QANTAS pilots
- Flying instructors
- RAAF and RAN aircraft engineers
- Aircraft maintenance engineers with QANTAS and RACWA
- F/A-18 Flight Instructor
- Airline cabin-crew.
- Customs & Border Protection Officer
- Aircraft Refuelers
- Air Traffic Controllers
- Baggage Handlers
- Airline Ground Operations Officers
Due to the popularity of the Program, students are required to sit an aviation aptitude (general knowledge) test. There is also a Year 6 level Maths test. Registration is essential for this process. Parents need to register their interest prior to April, for enrolment in Year 7 the following year.
