Greenwood College is located fourteen kilometers  north of Perth and five kilometers from the Indian Ocean, nestled among tall native trees. The school hosts the Intensive English Center which caters for students from a diverse range of backgrounds including international fee paying students and first-time attendees.

Teachers support the principles of co-operate, achieve, respect and engage in their teaching and learning programs (CARE) and are well supported through the community for their caring approach and school life in general.

Aviation and Volleyball are two of the school's specialty areas endorsed by the Department of Education, along with school based elite programs in Music and Dance. Following the recent rejuvenation of the school vision, different pathways are available to the variety of students attending the school.

These pathways cater for individual differences ranging from those students aspiring to university (direct or alternate entry), TAFE, trade apprenticeships or employment. The school day can incorporate attendance at TAFE, working in the community and tutorials by staff after school.
