Music Program

The Music program covers a wide variety of music genres including rock, classical, contemporary, folk and jazz. Students from Year 7 to Year 12 can participate.

Students in the Music Program have the opportunity to join and perform with ensembles, rock band, concert band and choirs and special classical guitar ensemble. The program focuses on composition, music history, performance, technology and theory. Extension work for advanced students includes madrigals, barbershop quartets and specialised instrumental ensembles.

The discipline and commitment demanded by music builds self-esteem, motivation and independence as well as encouraging the development of collaborative teamwork skills. The Music course is designed to encourage students to participate in a musical activity as both a recreational and vocational choice.
