Attendance

Attendance Reporting

Regular attendance plays an important role in your child’s academic progress, wellbeing, and sense of belonging at school. We ask that all absences are communicated promptly so we can continue to support each student effectively.

Please inform the school if your child:

  • Is unwell

  • Has a medical or specialist appointment

  • Has an approved reason for absence

  • Will arrive late or needs to leave early

Where possible, attendance notes should be entered prior to the absence/lateness occurring.

Selecting the appropriate absence.

  • Some examples include doctor, physio, chiro, hospital, dentist or all other medical appointments, it also includes mental health days.

  • Some examples of a cultural activity may include Funerals, Ramadan, visiting significant cultural sites, attending a cultural event, return to Country and cultural ceremonies.

  • Please enter this in as soon as you have dates and note these absences do affect your child’s attendance.

  • Use this for any personal absences or any you are unsure of what category to use.

All explanations get reviewed, so if you are unsure put the reason down and staff will move it into the correct category.

If You Receive an Absence SMS

If your child is marked as absent without prior notification to the school you will receive a message containing a link. When you follow the link, you will have the opportunity to explain the absence.

The link will expire after you have clicked it, meaning that it cannot be used to explain unapproved absences in the future. Instead, you will receive another message containing a new link, allowing you to repeat the process.
